TERMS / PLAIN AND FIXED
Terms of service.
These terms apply when you enquire about, or engage, Boring Web Designs for front-end UI/UX design and build work. Agreeing to them at enquiry stage does not create a project, a project starts once a written scope and start date are confirmed.
VERSION: 2026-08-05
APPLIES TO: ENQUIRIES AND PROJECTS
01
What we deliver
Boring Web Designs delivers a front-facing UI/UX product: interface design, page layouts, responsive behaviour, and the finished front-end code (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) or design files agreed in your scope.
The deliverable is defined by the written scope confirmed before work starts. Anything not listed in that scope is not part of the project.
02
What is not included
Unless your written scope says otherwise, the following are not included:
- hosting, domain registration, DNS or email setup;
- backend systems, databases, servers or APIs;
- user accounts, logins, payment processing or e-commerce back ends;
- ongoing maintenance, monitoring, updates or retainers;
- content writing, photography, videography or logo design;
- paid stock assets, fonts, plugins or third-party licences;
- SEO campaigns, advertising, analytics management or ranking outcomes;
- legal, accounting, accessibility certification or compliance advice.
Any of these can be quoted separately if you need them.
03
Quotes and pricing
Package prices shown on this website are fixed for the scope described with that package. Your firm quote is issued in writing once the pages, features and content are agreed, and it is valid for 30 days from the date it is sent. Custom work is quoted after a scoping conversation.
Quotes are for the described scope only. Work outside that scope is quoted and approved separately before it is started. All prices are in Australian dollars. GST is not charged unless we are registered for GST, in which case it is shown separately on the invoice. Domain, hosting and third-party fees are paid by you, directly to the provider.
04
Payment terms
There is no deposit and nothing to pay upfront. Your slot is booked when you approve the written quote and we confirm a start date. The full fixed price is invoiced on completion and is payable before the site goes live and before final files are handed over.
Invoices are due within 7 days unless agreed otherwise. Work may be paused on overdue accounts. All amounts are in Australian dollars. GST is not charged unless we are registered for GST, in which case it is shown separately on the invoice.
05
Your responsibilities
To keep a project moving, you agree to:
- supply text, images, logos and any other content in usable form;
- confirm you have the right to use everything you supply;
- provide feedback and approvals within a reasonable time;
- nominate one person to give final approval.
You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of content you supply, and you indemnify us against claims arising from it.
06
Revisions and changes
The number of revision rounds is set by your package and confirmed in your written quote: one round on Local Starter, two on Essential Website, three on Business Website, and as quoted on custom work. A round means one consolidated set of feedback, not individual requests sent over time.
Further revisions, new pages, added features or a change of direction after approval are treated as additional work and quoted before they are started.
07
Timelines and delays
Timelines are estimates and start when all of your content is received, not when the start date is confirmed. Delays in content, feedback or approvals move the delivery date accordingly.
If content is not supplied within four weeks of your confirmed start date, the project pauses and returns to the queue. Restarting incurs a $150 rebooking fee. Work already completed remains payable.
08
Ownership and licences
On full payment, ownership of the final delivered design and front-end code passes to you. Before full payment, all work remains our property.
We keep ownership of our underlying tools, base components, working files and general know-how, and may reuse them on other projects. Third-party fonts, assets and libraries remain under their own licences, which you are responsible for maintaining.
Unless you ask us not to, we may show the completed work in our portfolio and marketing.
09
Handover and support
On completion you receive the agreed files. Deployment, hosting and anything running behind the site is yours to arrange unless it was quoted as part of the scope.
There is a 30 day settle-in window after launch: anything broken, or not matching what was agreed, is fixed free of charge when reported within those 30 days. That does not cover changes of mind, new requests, browser or platform changes, or changes made by you or another party. After the settle-in window, changes are billed hourly with a 30 minute minimum at the rate confirmed in your quote.
10
Cancellation
Either party may end a project in writing. If you cancel, you pay only for the work completed up to that point, invoiced at the agreed rate. If we cancel, you pay only for work completed to that point and we will hand over what has been paid for.
11
Warranties and liability
We provide our services with due care and skill. We do not guarantee particular business results, search rankings, traffic, conversions or revenue.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim connected to a project is limited to the fees you have paid for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or loss of data.
12
General
These terms, together with your written scope and quote, form the agreement between us. If they conflict, the written scope and quote take priority for that project. We are currently in soft launch and are not accepting new projects. Registering interest places no obligation on either of us: it does not create a booking, does not reserve a start date and does not oblige us to take on the work or you to proceed. Prices shown on the site during soft launch are indicative. A project starts only when a written quote is approved and a start date is confirmed. Personal information is handled under our privacy policy.
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. We may update them from time to time; the version published here at the time you agree is the version that applies to your enquiry.
